So DL.ART is having yet another challenge that ends tomorrow and since its been a while since I put up a post I decided that I should put up a short one now. Its been a long week for me and I just haven't found the time so hopefully I'll be able to get a proper and longer post up next week.

I attacked my scraps drawer and managed to use up quite a few making this card. I printed out the rose pics a long time ago and finally found a way to use them. Construction paper...now that's something you don't see everyday yet I used up quite a bit that I had lying around. I know this card is straying far from what I usually make but hey I have to experiment and see what I like best. I have to admit though that this isn't what I would choose. Anyway here's my card...

Before I begin, let me just shout out *********Happy Birthday********* to my friend Regena over at "Butterflies & Flowers". Hope its a good one dear. Feel better Soon.

So I'm still working on those Thank You cards that I have to send out. I already sent some out but its always good to have some on hand. Flowers are from Fred She Said and my friend Regena embossed me some paper, she also let me borrow a leaves punch that I used (kinda hard to see cause they are under the flowers. My Aunt Maryann Punched out the big butterflies for me and the smaller butterflies were punched out with a fiskars punch that I got on Used Winnipeg for just $2. Decide to go with using my favorite colors, Black and Green. I love how it turned out, would never have guessed that it would make a cool color combo as well. So here it is....

My First Card Of 2012

Its only the second day of 2012 and already I'm making cards. I got my motivations from Diana over at DL.ART. Diana had a Blogaversary blog hop going on from Jan 1 to Jan 2. On the hop we were supposed to find 4 secret words of items that are supposed to be used on your cards. Well I found all the words. At first I wasn't sure about the color combination but I like it a lot. I think it turned out great. My sister Jessica has a birthday on the 22nd and I though why not make it a B-Day card and send it to her. Hopefully she'll like it.
The mulberry roses come from Diana over at Mos hie's Moments. I won some blog candy from here last year and these beauties were included. I love them Diana, Thanks! I go the number 17 from a Cricut cartridge called "Cherry Limeade". The sentiment comes from Sentiment's 4 You. My friend Regena offered to emboss the pink paper for me, its kinda hard to see the effect but its there and I have to say the card looks more beautiful in person. I got the idea of the flower in Tilda's hand from Jacque. She has such fabulous inspirational ideas. Makes the images looks even more real. LOVE IT!

I finally sat down and took the time to make Thank You cards to send out to some lovely ladies that I won some candy from. Some of these cards should have been sent out weeks ago but crafting lately has been at a stand still for me, so I'm actually glad to finally get this done.

These cards are really easy to make. My friend Regena offered to emboss some papers for me and the flowers come from Fred She Said. They are beautiful. The sentiment in the middle was printed out using Microsoft Word. It takes about 7 minutes to make a card like this IF you don't have to cut out the flowers first. A very good friend of mine had surgery and I had to make her a quick card. Sure hope she feels better soon and gets well too. I miss seeing her around.

Its not my usual type and style of Magnolia card but its nice and simple. The flowers come from Fred She Said and the charm come from Ebay. I couldn't find them any cheaper anywhere else so I took my chances and I love them, plus as a bonus the shipping was free and really fast. The border punch I used to make the lace look is the Fiskars Sunburst Border Punch . Its definitely one of my favorite Fiskars brand name punches. Not much else to say so here's my card... Oh and thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment. I really appreciate it.

and I sure wish I hadn't been. It took me a while to figure out how I should color the Tilda image I used for this card. It didn't turn out too bad but I can tell you all one thing, I won't be choosing grey for a card in a long time. Not only did I end up not knowing how to color the image I also didn't have any grey mulberry roses that would go with this card. I ended up having to use Fred She Said Designs flowers. I ordered them a while back and finally found a way to use them on a Magnolia card. I think they add a sweet touch. The sentiment comes from Sentiments 4 You, they have an awesome collection of freebie sentiments and this one so happnens to be one of them. Sorry for having to cut this post short today (as if my other ones are any longer, lol) but I have a lot of house work to get done. And before I go here is my card.

Wedding Bells Ring...

My cousin Pauline is getting married on Sunday and I desperately had to make a Wedding card and what better way to introduce her to the adorable Magnolia stamps then by making her a card using a Magnolia stamped image. Because she's never seen a card like this I'm not sure if she'll like it. I know I love it but she's kind of a plain Jane so I'm having my doubts.

Instead of using patterned papers I embossed it because I wanted it white I had to put an effect on the white paper. This is my first embossed Magnolia card. I colored the image with pencil crayons and the flowers come from the very talented Jacque. The sentiment comes from the Sentiments 4 You blog and I just love it. I added the border around it to give it a classy look.

My Best Magnolia Card Yet (in my opinion)

Hey there lovely peeps. Found time to make yet another Magnolia card. Absolutely love how this one turned out. All of the beautiful blue papers that I used come from the lovely Diana over at "Moshie's Moments"and the beautiful Mulberry Roses come from Jacque over "Jacque's Joie de Vivre" I colored the Magnolia image with Pencil crayons and outlined it with copics. I don't have enough colors to blend with so I have to use whatever works best for me. I would like to enter the card into the current challenges:

I'm Baaack....

Wow! Life sure has gotten away from me and so has my blog. I'm really disappointing at the lack of time I spend to keep my blog updated but with all the garden work and canning I have to say it has been tough. I've noticed that I lost 2 followers due to my lack to commitment to my blog and I'm sorry for not posting more often. I'll try to do better. :)

I got this weird idea to try something new and off I went to give it a go. Beading! Trying something different to make this card pop was all I had in mind. It took me forever to get this strand of beads beaded but I ended up managing after about 1.5 hours of work. Boy was I glad to be done. I have to say that the card didn't turn out quite like I expected it to but I guess it'll have to do. Imagine making a card that you want perfect and you work on it about twice as long as any of your other cards and it actually turns out not at all as you anticipated, boy that stinks! By the way if you've never tried making your own lace you really ought to. All you need is paper and any craft border punch. Its a little tricky in finding out how wide your strip should be but once you've done it you'll never want to use real lace again. Anyway here's my card.

Tilda Is Finally Smiling...

Wow! It sure has been a while since I've put up a post on one of my creations. But I have to admit...it has been a busy summer so far. The garden work doesn't seem to end and plus the canning seems to go on forever. Anyway I finally found the time to sit down and make a card. I got the color idea from the Fiskateers Home Page. In case you haven't heard of them the Fiskateers are a bunch of wonderful guys and gals who share the love of crafting. There are online crops and weekly challenges that one can join and the gallery is loaded with tons of wonderful projects. I decided that Tilda needed a expression so I actually took the time to look up mouth expressions and drew a mouth and nose on her. Now I know it isn't the best but I'm OK with how it turned out. The lovely Mulberry Roses come from Jacque Beddingfield and the design papers come from Michelle Cummings, Thanks to both of you for everything. The Eiffel Tower picture comes from Google Images anyone can find that, lol. So finally...Here is my creation. Hope y'all like it.

A while back I put up a post on my blog about my sister Jessica loosing 3 of her fingers at the first joint. My First Edwin Card

Time for another card. I've been really busy lately and haven't found much time to craft. So yesterday I finally found the time. Its been a while since I made a card with no fancy folds. I've have 2 wonderful kids named Destiny and Shane.
My birthday is on May 7 and I am 24 years old.
I am a perfectionist. When crafting I want my work to turn out perfect. Otherwise I try and try again until it actually is.
I'm a computer freak. I understand quite a bit about installing windows and any other program.
I love animals. Before I got married I had a border around my room with pictures of animals. My favorite is the Wolf

Blue Boy

I finally had time to make another card. I'm practicing on making boy cards and I have to say its kinda tough. What can one put on a boy card? Girl cards are so much easier to make do to the fact that you can use lace, bows and flowers and when it comes to boy cards you basically have to stick to the nitty-gritty.

I've been saving free digital stamps into my computer week after week to use them on cards and today I finally got to use my first. The digi stamp comes from the lovely Anne over at Anne's "Cards 4 U". She's got some fabulous freebies and I suggest you go and check them out. I've been a follower of her's for a while now and I just love her work.
The design papers I used come from Diana over at Moshie's Moments. I won a huge blog candy from her a while back and these wonderful papers just happened to be part of it. The design of the card was also inspired by her. I used 2 of her card designs to make this card and I just love how it turned out. Thanks Diana for the inspiration.

Easel Card For A Guy,,,

I finally managed to make my first Easel Card for a guy. I could not have done if it weren't for Sarah. I won the cute LOTV stamp on this card from her this month and it so happened to arrive in the mail today. I just had to go and make a card with it. I'm not much for brown but its basically the only paper I had that fit to some of the challenges that I wanted to enter. I definitely have to go do some shopping to get myself some paper for guy cards. I colored the image with copics and pencil crayons. The sentiment comes from Marion82. I just love her sentiments...she has so many to choose from. There were flowers on the side of the sentiments that I have to remove in order for it to not be girly. I wanted to add a charm that would fit to the occasion but the only one I found was a plain old Dollarama charm. I'll definitely have to do some shopping online to find some cheap ones...Any Suggestions???? Anyway enough rambling...Here is my card.

Pink, Pink And More Pink

Pink!!! Now that is a color that I wouldn't choose everyday, it would in fact be the last color I would pick. I might not like the color too much but I think this card turned out really nicely. I haven't crafted for a whole week and I finally took the time to make a card this afternoon. It took me 2 hours of hard core work to finish it. A while back I won some wonderful blog candy from Jacque and the flowers I used for making this card just so happens to come from her... I love them Jacque, Thank You. The papers again are from our local Dollarama, they have such beautiful 12x12 paper packs its hard to resist. The sketch I used for the card comes from Wild Orchid Challenges. Another Green Card. This one however didn't quite turn out how I wanted it to. I made it for an online crop challenge where the challenge was a recipe but I clearly went overboard with all the requirements. Not to sure if I like it but its not to bad all in all. I borrowed the stamp from a friend and its just adorable. The papers and ribbon I used are from a paper pack from the Dollarama. I won the butterfly charm in an online candy once.

Easel Card with Sewing Technique

Yesterday I took the time to make yet another card. I've been meaning to make a card for a long time now where I actually sew on the card. Most times I tend to forget until its too late but for once I managed to not forget. I just love the affect that the sewing has on cards and I have to say it really worked for this one too. Green is one of my favorite colors and plus I had some huge green roses that I bought a while ago that I've been meaning to use on a card. However they were much too large for this 4.75 x 4.25 inch card so I tore off 3 of the layers of petals underneath to make it the size that I want. I don't think its too noticeable but I have to say that those roses do not compare to the beautiful Mulberry roses that most crafters use.

The image was outlined with copics and colored in with pencil crayons. I'm wondering if I should take the time to color the surface that Tilda is resting her hands on? Is it a table or should I just leave it the way it is? I left the inside plain but I like how it looks. There is such a thing as too crowded in my opinion.
Anyway, enough chatter...Here is my card.

Finally.....A Post

I finally found the time to put up another post. I found this cool website with card tutorials and there were quite a few on there that I found to be pretty cool. This here is one of the cards I found. Its called a Magic Slider Card. I'm not too impressed with the color of the card but I only had yellow 12x12 card stock paper so I didn't have much of a choice. Other then that I think it turned out great. I used Copics to outline the Tilda image and pencil crayons to color it. I find it quite interesting to color with pencil crayons cause you can basically use the same technique that you use with copics and plus I don't have any pastel copic colors so I have no choice but to use pencil crayons.

And just a heads up to all of you who were kind enough to send my sister a card. Random.org will be choosing a winner to receive a small prize package once my sister has received all the cards.

"Need Help!!!" Please Read!!!!!!

Hey there peeps... its been a while since I've dona post but you won't have to wait much longer...I promise I'll get a post up soon with one of my creations.

I have to ask you guys for some help. My youngest sister Jessica (16) was in a farming accident at a meat shop and she cut of 3 of her fingers at the first joint. This happened about 2.5 weeks ago. At first the doctors thought they might be able to save one of them but as it turns out, the finger that they had tried to fix had to be removed surgically yesterday.
She's doing OK but I feel sorry for the poor dear and I thought that maybe if she received some cards from far and wide it would make her feel better. If you are interested in sending her a card please email me (sidebar) and I will send her address to you. Just so you know she is from Canada.

My First Gift Box

I’m on a roll lately with posting and updating my blog...sure wish I was like this all the time, lol.
I made my first Gift Box today. Its not to bad for my first time but I am a little disappointed with it. What I mean is...it could look fancier. Let’s just say I’ll be keepin’ this one for future references.

Spring Is Here

I was browsing through some blogs yesterday and I came across The Sherlocks Home Blog where Sara offers some free digi's. I looked through all she had and boy did I ever find somegreat ones. My favorites just happened to be background's such as a barn background and a fence background. Instantly this idea poped into my head and I went to make a card right away.

I worked till 12:00am and finally finished it. Took me about 3 hours to make the card from scratch. I colored the tilda and barn image with pencil crayons but outlined it all with copics. I colors the fence using copics only. I don't have enough blend colors to color everything with copics all I have is the Mango Primary Color pack that I won from Sally last year. Love how this card turned out.

The stamp is called "Tilda With Flower In Her Hair" (I think) and I won it in a blog candy from Diana along with those pretty flowers that I have been saving for a special card. (Thanks so much Diana, I love it all)

I got the idea for this card from Jacque'sBlog. She makes the most beautiful cards and if you've never been there I suggest you go over there and check her out.

Magnolia-licious Highlites is having the huge Easter/Spring Extravaganza Contest and this card would be perfect to enter. I think its got to be my best Magnolia card so far.

My Scrap Corner

I believe its about time that I show you all my scraproom...where I do most of my crafting. I didn't have room on the main floor of my house so I had to set something up in the attic...my husband helped me do all the heavy lifting, I had to do a huge amount of cleaning up in order to take some pics where it looks at least decent. Its not too bad, nice and cozy but I do wish however that there weren't any eaves coming down all over the place but what can you do.

Over At Really Reasonable Ribbon they are having a ribbon organizing giveaway. This here is where I keep my ribbon. I saw a ribbon rack just like this one on a blog somewhere and thought it was the coolest idea ever. Once I showed my father-in-law a picture he offered to try and make myself one. Its a little bigger then I hoped for but good enough. When it comes to crafting I prefer plain ribbon. I'm not much for the printed stuff. Although I have a couple of rolls of it I don't think I'll ever use it but you never know I might just surprise myself one day.

I also have a drawer full of scraps of ribbon. Not all of it is scraps though. In this drawer I prefer to keep pieces that are 1 yard or less. I recieved most of this ribbon for blog candy that I won and from friends. Its not all that often that I find myself at the drawer looking for certain colors.

These here are my paper racks. I bought the one on the top for $20 online and the one on the bottom is another work of art by my father-in-law. I really appreciate all he's made for me so far to keep my scraproom in order.

I've never seen a good way to store punches and if any of my blog readers see this it would be great to get some advice. Right now I have them lying on one of the shelves in my desk. I don't have too many so its ok for now.

I also saw a great storage idea online for clear stamps. All one needs to do is take apart a CD case and place them in. Just did mine yesterday and I love the idea.

And Last but not least...
I am a huge fan of Adhesive Rhinestones. They are infact my favorite embellishments. I was debating on how I could keep them all in one place without having to deal with too much so I decided to make a book and tape the sheets in using double sided tape. I used laminated paper so that they could easily be removed and when one sheet is done you just take out the empty one and replace it. I have 3 sheets full right now but decided to show only one cause to many photo's to get through.

Purple & Pink Color Combo

I saw a card a while back on Bev's Blog (I just love her work...simply elegant) with the color combination of pink and purple, I fell in love with the combo instantly. Never knew the two could look so good together. I had to make a card for a friend so this is the combination I decided to use. It didn't exactly turn out like I wanted it too but it works for me.

Corry is having a sketch challenge as a second entry into her Blog Candy. I couldn't resist...I just had to try out this sketch. I added a couple different touches here and there but all in all I have to say its not all that bad. Love the Tilda image...Its just too bad I only had one.

Baptism Cards

I got an order for some baptsm cards that I have to get filled out. But in the process of making them I ran out of both Photo paper and Ink for my printer and now I'm waiting for it all to arrive via EBay. Cheapest place to get some if you ask me.

Anyway I got a few cards done and this here one just so happens to be my favorite so far. Love the color and design. The background paper comes from "Donna" over at Bearly Mine Designs. All About "April" and Fall

This here is april, the family pet. She is a pure bred "Jack Russel Terrier". I have never seen a dog that has as much energy as this little girl. Althought Jack Russels hate being cold, she's outside all day long and I can't seem to figure out why, its not been much more then 12 degrees celcius here in southern MB in the past few weeks.

And now onto a card:
Orange has never been one of my favorite colors to work with. I don't know why but it just is. Although it isn't a favorite color for me I just love how this card turned out. Hi all. I went on a spree and made a couple of Father's Day Cards. All of them have the same verse but I tried to change the card designs around a bit. My favorite is the brown one, the touch of blue gives it an awesome look. Personally I'm not the brown type but when it comes to scrapbooking and card making then that is something totally different. Green has always been a favorite color of mine and I really like how this card turned out. This design has also turned out to be a favorite of mine and I can't seem to get past it. Shaker and Gel Cards

I have discovered these amazing new techniques over at Split Coast Stampers. I just love these card ideas. They are perfect for young childrens birthdays or just for a hello card. Under the cards I have added a link to where you can find the tutorials. Hope you have as much fun trying out these card as I did. I do however enjoy making the shaker card more. The Gel card looks nicer but it is hard to get the right size ziploc bag that will fit to your card.

Making 3D cards

Found this new and great technique for card making. What I do is, I print the same picture 3 times, but each time I make it smaller. Next I place "Double Sided Adhesive Foam" on the back of each picture and stick them above each other to give them a stair like effect. You can 3D as much as you like but 2 times is ok for me.
